Long over due life update

Categories: Present Family, Present Friends, Future Family, Life Update

Well, it has been a really long time since I have written any of my dreams. I have had so many in the past couple of months that I can’t remember much of any of them. With life being as busy as it has been it is easy to just get on with your day and forget about the dream you had last night. I of course regret not making the time to record my dreams and hope to do better in the future. I know, I know, I said that last life update… but I really do mean well and hope to try harder. I have decided that I will be categorizing my dreams and trying to be more organized. In the future I will only have one picture per category so you will know by the picture which category my dream falls under. This really won’t make much of a difference for you as the reader but it will help me out a lot. Before I was trying to take a unique picture for each dream and that was deterring me from posting because I would have to go out and take a picture of something that would somehow connect to the dream. Basically I did not have the time to do such extensive planning for each dream post. I am still trying to figure out which categories to use and which pictures to match but rest assured I will get there.

So if you are wondering what my life update is… here goes. My husband and I, along with our friends (a married couple my husband and I are really good friends with) and my brother in law, worked on a project as a team and were chosen as 1 of 10 semi-finalists in America to be sent to China, all expenses paid, to compete with 60 other teams from China for cash prizes. This has literally taken up our entire life but it has been so cool developing the project and preparing for China. We are all excited to get this experience and to hopefully see the Great Wall of China. So that was a bit of a surprise in my life. Further more I worked on a self watering project for my plants to keep them alive while we are gone in China for a week in August and then for when we are gone in Europe, we will spend a couple weeks in September.

So A dream I had last night… Well I had several but this is the one I remember most and not the first dream involving twin baby boys.

My Dream:

I was on a school bus with a whole bunch of kids and adults. I do not where we were going but we happened to be going by my mothers house. The bus was really loud and I remember looking down and I had twin baby boys in my arms and they had soiled their pants. They must have been about 12-14 months old because they could walk but not very well and they were not really running around toddlers. They just looked about 12-14 months old I guess… Anyways, they had soiled their pants and I had to do something about it. Thankfully as I said above we were going past my mothers house. I convinced the bust driver to stop and I took the boys inside. We went into my middle sisters old room and changed them. They were much happier after the change and we went on our way.

Take me to Hawaii

Dream Setting:

A tropical island, probably Hawaii, at an all inclusive resort.

My Dream:

My husband and I, and his family were going on vacation. We got this giant family suit with everyone getting their own room and bath but sharing common space. The first day we went out exploring. We went to the beach and on some trails leading off the beach up into the hills. We saw beautiful ash white cliffs and I was really fit and looked amazing in my swimsuit. My sister in law went hiking farther but my husband and I turned around to hit the beach again. We all met back up at our lodging for lunch. The resort was set up to serve you every meal buffet style. But they had did it a little differently, there was a kitchen and dining room per every 2-3 large family lodgings. That meant that we ate with just 2 other families at most. After we ate, we all split up again and went and did the things we wanted to most. I ended up taking this high school girl to an indoor soccer scrimmage. They were playing in a room just slightly larger than a racquetball quart/room. Something that I used to do as a kid while my mom played racquetball in the quart next to mine. When the game was over everyone else left. We decided to stay a little longer. We did however want to go to the drinking fountain and get some water. The drinking fountain was of course outside the room. We had to keep the door open while everyone was leaving because if it closed we would be locked out. As we were slipping back into the room, an employee told us that if we had not reserved it we could not be in there. It was time for dinner anyways so we left. Back at our dinning room we learned that dinner would be 5 different styles of rice and that was it. When we first checked in we were told that if we had a request we could make it, but it may or may not be fulfilled. I thought it would be worth a try. Who wants to eat a plate full or just flavored white sticky rice? So I said to the man putting the rice out that I had a request. He replied with a bow, “certainly madame, I can pass it along to the chef.” I requested pancakes. He returned to the kitchen to see if the chef could accommodate. He came out with no pancakes but did say that the chef would prepare something extra on the side, based on what he had in stock. A little while later yummy chicken appeared. One of the guys from another family thought making a request was ridiculous and that I should not have done it. He thought me rude I supposed. But I did notice that he ate the chicken that was brought out.

Twin Madness

Dream Setting:

My mothers house before heading to visit my grandparents, over the river and through the woods and over the mountains too.

My Dream:

My mother who has three adult children and no desire for any more, had a freak pregnancy that produced twins. These infants were both boys and born premature. They were really tiny… and one was even smaller than the other. Kind of like a runt situation. I was really excited to meet them so I drove up to mothers house a couple days before our trip to grandma’s. I was surprised at how tiny they really were, I knew they were preemie’s but I was still shocked. My mother had to work so my sisters were babysitting. They decided to go to town and were loading the car when I pulled up. Of course we spent some time catching up and I wanted to meet my brothers so I looked in the car and they were laying in a cardboard shoe box! Where were the car seats?  I scolded my sisters for not using car seats and they fought back. “They are fine in the shoe boxes, mom doesn’t mind.” one said. “Who do you think you are to come here and tell us what to do? You don’t live here anymore.” said another. We bickered back and forth with no resolution. They apparently had decided they had enough from me and marched into the house to call our mother. I was sure my mother wouldn’t let her sons ride in the car with no car seats. To my surprise my mother didn’t care one bit about the car seat situation. As I packed the boys into the house alone, my sisters just left them in the car, my mother pulled up. I was happy to see my mother but I was not happy about the way they were treating the new babies. So my mother told me to back off about the car seats and I came full force down in argument about the safety of infants in the car. We were in a pretty heated discussion and it ended with me asking her if I bought them the proper car seats if she would use them. She said she didn’t know.

After everyone calmed down, except there was no way I was letting this go  but for the moment, we went inside and tried to be civilized. My youngest sister had a white coat that was soaked and hanging behind the wood stove to dry. It started to smoke and then flame burst out the sleeve. I started hitting it and smashing the sleeve to starve the flame. I stopped the fire but some areas of her sleeve started turning blue. There was nothing I could do. The next morning we were heading over the mountains to visit our grandparents, without car seats! My middle sister had planned to go hiking with a friend she used to like, now she despises him, on the way over. So they were going to leave really early in the morning and go hiking and meet us at our grandparents in the afternoon, probably not long after the rest of us show up. That night at my grandparents my husband and I were heading off to the camper for bed and I saw my middle sister unrolling my sleeping bag. It looked like my sleeping bag at least. I asked her if she stole my sleeping bag and she was adamant that she had not. I did find my sleeping bag elsewhere and felt a little silly for accusing her of stealing my sleeping bag, mine was black and hers turned out to be blue.

Sleep Over

Real Life Connections:

My husband and I have a few really close couples in our lives. We are planning to take a long weekend this summer and camp together.

Dream Setting:

Two of our close couple friends and us rented a vacation house.

My Dream:

We were all at a rented vacation home somewhere near the Colombia river, maybe near Longview. My dream begins at night when we are all ready to hit the hay. The problem is we didn’t research the sleeping accommodations and  the house was much smaller than we thought it would be. We all found odd places to sleep some on the floor some on the couch and some crammed in the one bed. I think I ended up sleeping on the floor at the foot of the bed. We all had different departure times in the morning so we were all ready and packed to leave. My husband and I were going to be the second ones to leave. In the morning I woke up and thought I was naked and freaked out because there were others sleeping around me. It was a nightmare in a dream. Because of the nightmare I woke up early. I got to send off the first couple leaving. I learned that it had been really stormy last night and that all the roads leading to my house had gotten damaged and washed out. I freaked out and did some quick research on ANY way home. I found an abandoned rail road that had a support bridge over a stream that was still up. I ditched my husband, he was still sleeping and headed off on a bicycle I found. I peddled across the bridge and made it to the rail way. I crossed over the stream and I was home free. Many other people were trying to get home using this method, others on bicycles and in cars. I was having conversation with this one fellow on another bicycle and he asked me where I was going.Although it had been storming all night, it was really sunny right now. I told him I was staying with my husband and some friends in a vacation house but heard that I wouldn’t be able to get home and took off immediate. He then asked me where my husband was. My husband? I had forgotten all about him. I turned around to go to my husband. The ships on the Colombia river were so huge but very fun to watch and pass by. I came to the stream and realized that the bridge I had just crossed was not very stable. It was an old bridge and it was about to split in the middle and fall into the river. I could not believe it had held all the weight so far. I quickly crossed praying it would hold. It held and I made it across. I made it back to the vacation house just as the rest of them were waking up. Later that day my best friend and I visited an art gallery and she made me show off a poster I had made in high school. As soon as I opened it up to show it off I realized all the errors and what I would have done differently. It was pouring down rain and we were stuck in the rental house. I never found out if the first couple that left had made it home we didn’t have any cell phones in my dream.

Landlords Gone Crazy

Dream Setting:

My basement apartment which is different than my real life basement apartment. The landlords house was 5 times bigger than it is in real life.

My Dream:

My husband and I rent a basement apartment from the landlord upstairs. We noticed the landlord began fixing things up all of a sudden. We thought it was odd and wondered what he was up to. We thought he might be getting ready to put his house on the market to sell. We were wrong. He was going to increase the amount of rental space. Besides us in the basement he had 3 other rooms and another suite, all in the basement. His house was huge upstairs too! It was one sunny day when all these people started flooding in. First the suited up with a family of 5, then one bedroom had an elderly couple, and another had a couple college girls. Which is fine, the landlord can rent out whatever part of his home as he likes. Then he came to my room. He asked me if he can rent out another bed in my room. I immediately said no, we don’t have much space as it is and we need our privacy. He tried to argue and persuade me to change my mind, but I really wasn’t willing to cram another bed in my room, especially filled with strangers. He huffed off and went to working on his pool. It wasn’t before too long that his daughters came in and were sad. They are pretty young probably under 10 years old. The were snuggling up to me and asking if I had to leave. I told them that I wasn’t planning on leaving if I don’t have to. Then I reassured them that everything was going to be fine and they even had some new friends to make in the family at the other end of the hall. They were a bit more joyful after that but the landlord, their father, came in and demanded they leave at once. They scurried off and he followed them. Alone in my apartment I decided to take a shower. When I went into what used to be the bathroom I realized that all that banging and racket was my landlord removing my bathroom. Now there was a door to the open garage instead of the shower. I was confused. The landlord was in the garage and I asked him where the bathroom went? He told me to use the other one like all the rest of the new tenants. I had to walk through someones bedroom to get to the bathroom and he had someone renting out the bathroom. He was sleeping in a cot next to the tub/shower. How was anyone supposed to use the bathroom in private when there is a man sleeping in it? When I returned to my room there was an new bed next to mine with 4 people in it! He had done it without my permission, he had rented another bed in my room. I had a rental agreement and I was gonna look at it. Meanwhile I needed those people out. I told them to get out but they would not. I started yelling for them to get out and physically grabbing their arms to try to pull them out the door. Finally I got them out but some how the landlord got in. Now I had to deal with him. I told him he had no right to put another bed in my room and rent it out we had a contract, a deal. He handed me a notice. I had to leave. I asked him why and he told me that the other people were more nice than me. That wasn’t a good enough reason to kick someone out of their home in my opinion but what could I do? I asked him if it was actually about me not wanting other people in my space and he confirmed that was the real reason. I asked him how long I had to find another place and he said just do it as soon as you can! At least I had time to search for a new place. He left and the others sneaked in again… This time I realized I was not going to be able to keep them out, they had keys. So I laid some ground rules. This is my space until I leave, there will be a curtain and it will not be breached, they were not to have sex while anyone else was home, and they were to be quiet. I figured that since there were 4 people sharing a bed that the sex rule would not be an issue, but then one of the girls spoke out, “but I ‘get some’ after every date…” I told her that she would have to stop that habit for the time being. I went back out side I guess to get some privacy, and I found my mother walking up the driveway.  What a lovely surprise. I welcomed her into my home and found that my kitchen had also been swallowed by the garage and I had a camping tent kitchen instead. How thoughtful of the crazy landlord to provide me with such wonderful replacements… NOT! My mother and I went in the ‘kitchen’ for some tea and the landlord knocked it and us over!!! I was so mad, I yelled at him to get out and how dare he do such a thing especially with my mother inside! He was rude and harsh and completely crazy! I chased him out and his daughters started throwing fertilizer and rose bushes on his head. I told my mother what was going on and said that I better move sooner rather than later. I told my landlord that if he does or tries to do something like that again, I would call the police because that is cruel and dangerous and not how you treat someone. I asked my mother what she was doing all the way down in my town, she lives about 2 hours away. She told me she was going on a date. She was wearing a beautiful bright spring flowery dress, it was orange, pink, and yellow.

The end.

Personal Facts:

My actual landlord is very calm and quiet. My mother does NOT date…

That picture is of me standing in front of one of my basement apartments. I have lived in more than one… My husband prefers them to all the other options to rent… I guess because they are cheaper?

The wedding of Bread

Dream Setting:

My husband and I were invited to a wedding. The Bride and Groom are ‘dream’ characters. There were also many of our real family and friends attending the wedding.

My Dream:

My husband and I received an invitation to a wedding. When we arrived we noticed that many of our friends and family were there. We chose our seat and waited for the ceremony to start. As we were waiting we noticed that the officiant was one of my friends. I was excited to see him officiate his first wedding. The music started and the the wedding party walked down the isle. The bride begins her journey down the isle and I notice that her wedding dress was a bit unusual. It is a bright teal blue lace dress. The kind and ugly step sister would wear in the story of Cinderella. She makes it down the isle and the officiant begins. The ceremony is over in 5 minutes flat. The bride and groom head back down the isle and we all head into the reception. The reception is set up in a traditional format, round tables with the table clothes and water pitchers. Very basic and functional. The best part about the reception was that instead of getting a bag of M&M’s as a keep sake, they made these giant pastry style loaves of bread to give out. When I got mine I was so excited I ate half of it on the spot. I decided not to be a pig and saved the other half for later. I went off and mingled a bit with my mother and sisters, some friends, and said hello to the newly married couple. The evening was winding down and people were starting to leave. I decided to go back to my table and pack up my things, especially the bread. When I returned to my table I found that my loaf of pastry bread was gone! I figured that in an effort to start cleaning up the reception, somebody took my bread and wrapped it up in the kitchen for me. I am now on the hunt for my missing bread. I look in the kitchen and it is gone. I realize that I am going to have to give up on the bread and just go home. At this point I find my husband and tell him that I lost the other half of my bread and that I am sad, but I am ready to go. He responds with, “dear, I ate the other half.” I am livid. How dare he eat the other half of my bread! I was looking forward to eating it so much! I walk off, and as I did I turned to some single young ladies and grumbled to them, “that’s what you get for getting married. Someone to eat your other half of the bread.” Now it is time to go and my husband and I are leaving. As we are walking out the door someone helping with the wedding asked us if we got our bread. I explained that I had got mine and ate some, but my husband ate half of it and that he must not have gotten his. She replied with, “well it was one loaf per invitation.” Boy did I feel silly, I was mad at my husband for stealing his half of our bread.

Personal Reflection of My Dream:

I woke up feeling really silly over the situation. I also laughed at the fact that I made my self feel silly even in my dream. I have found that often times when I do something ridiculous in my dream I always end the dream on a reality check. In this case, the lady explaining how ridiculous I was being, simply by straightening out the deal with the bread. I would never react this way in real life, I just find so much humor in all of it.

Abducted by the Mob

Dream Setting:

In a city I do not know, just visiting for a while.

My Dream:

My husband and I were staying at a hotel in a city I do not recall. The hotel was nice and we really liked staying there. There was a gas station not far from the hotel and we noticed that every once in a while a women and her vehicle would go missing from the gas station. Apparently there was a mob problem. We noticed the women was missing because along with the women the mob took 2 of my motorcycles. Realizing what happened I became extremely upset and began plotting. I new that the mob guy would grab the women and whatever vehicle was near and sometimes whatever objects he wanted from the store and take off. Since nobody ever knew what happened to the women they had not caught the guy. One time at the gas station we encountered the mob leader. My husband is 6 feet and 5 inches, which is pretty tall, and he is pretty thin. The mob leader was much taller than my husband and he was skinnier too! The mob leader was wearing a bright yellow track suit and a rolling fabric wardrobe filled with basketballs. The mob leader wanted to play ball. The stakes were high, the mob leader picked a women and gagged her for the game. If he won she went with him. If he lost she was let free. Not playing wasn’t an option. You don’t say no to the mob boss in town. All his goons were packing loaded guns. So it was his men against mine. The mob boss didn’t know that I had been plotting and had a few tricks up my sleeve. I had snipers at the ready if thing didn’t go my way. The game started and it wasn’t too long before something didn’t go his way. A fowl was called on him and he didn’t agree, so he grabbed the girl and started heading off the court. My snipers were at the ready and put a shot into the basketball he was holding. As it deflated in front of his eyes he realized he did not have the upper hand. He began gathering his me to leave. He walked up to me to tell me that this was not the end and that he would be back to settle this score, but another ball in his hand popped. The sniper had taken another shot. I told him that his reign of terror was over and there would be no more women taken or hurt and there would be no more things stolen or he would have to answer to me. If he had to answer to me, it would be more than just his basketballs popping. They untied the women and left.

Gymnastics Disaster

Dream Setting:

The gymnastics center I coached at in high school and college. Ended with my at my house.

My Dream:

I was watching gymnastics practice at the old gym I used to coach at. The head coach and owner saw me and got really angry. He started screaming at me and yelling for me to get out! I ran around to the back where the beams were and the back door. I hid under the stairs. Under the stairs were a bunch of soapy bubbles. It was like a bubble bath of all bubbles. Chin high! Some of my friends that were part of the gymnastics world, one was even a coach, were playing with the bubbles. We all hid in the bubbles. While we were hiding my 2 friends turned into wooden Christmas trees. They were about 2 1/2 feet tall. I grabbed the Christmas trees and ran downstairs. I didn’t know what to do with them so I just left them downstairs at the front desk. I went to my house or rather my mothers house. After I got home I noticed that there was a message for me on facebook. It was from one of my friends that turned into a Christmas tree. He told me that he noticed how stressed I looked and how worried I was and wanted to offer me a free massage. He is licensed. Since I was already home I told him how nice it was of him to offer but I didn’t want to drive all the way back. Then I remembered that my husband had been wanting to learn more about massage so I asked him if he would be willing to give him a few pointers sometime. My friend agreed to help him out.

Precious Cargo

Dream Setting:

On a small boat in the waters of another country.

My Dream:

Me, my husband, my sister, and some other people we knew where in another country. We were on a small boat and we had a diamond. A very valuable and precious diamond. We were transporting it from one island to another without the locals suspecting us or trying to steal it from us. As we were floating, navigating the waters some locals would swim up to us and watch us. They must have suspected we had precious cargo because they would send out small parties of 2 people to interrupt us. I say interrupt because they did not attack us in a violent or vicious manner. Their attacks were more like questioning. After awhile we finally made it to our destination, a gift shop, and sneaked the diamond through the store. This was difficult because the workers all bombarded you and tried to get you to buy something. There were so many salesmen begging you to buy something that you could not walk 3 steps without interruption. In the end we made it through the store and delivered the precious diamond.

Dam, Bell, Lederhosen

Dream Setting:

A 2 hour road trip, a stay at a hotel, and a contest held at a convention center in Portland, Oregon. All the characters in my dream are based on people I actually know. I will be using pseudonyms.

My Dream:

My husband and I were on a short road 2 hour trip. We were heading to our home town for a visit. About half way we found a series of small dams where you can scuba dive through the fish elevator’s, no not ladder’s… elevator’s (spoiled fish). They also had a small hotel with 5 rooms. We decided to stay the night. My in-laws joined us. This hotel was big on being punctual. They served dinner for free… but only for 10 minutes. With such a short time frame, I missed dinner. Instead I spent the rest of the evening hanging out with some old friends from the pool I used to work at. My best friend and I played the arcade racing game, while holding her new born son. After the stay in the tiny hotel, we decided to go to Portland, Oregon to assist my sister and her friend Cordelia compete in a competition. They had to measure the circumference of the Liberty Bell. The contestants go one at a time to talk to the judge. The judge asks them about themselves and then shows them how to measure. Once they are done talking they can measure the bell. After all the contestants have gone (there was a huge line of like 100 people) the winner is announced based on the accuracy of the measurement. You did not have to be present tow in. In the line of contestants we saw an acquaintance we had back in college. He was there with his date and they were both 7 feet tall, dressed in giant blue clogs and lederhosen. They also had those famous hats they wear in the Alps.
